Karin Calde, PhD – Oregon Licensed Psilocybin Facilitator
By midlife, most people have already tried a lot of things to feel better. Thinking harder about the problem is usually near the top of that list. Sometimes what helps is a different kind of conversation with ourselves. I work with thoughtful adults in midlife and beyond who want to understand their inner world more clearly and shift the patterns shaping their emotional lives and relationships.
Before entering the regulated psilocybin field, I spent nearly twenty years as a relationship coach and psychotherapist supporting individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. Clients often tell me they appreciate my calm presence, practical perspective, and the occasional moment of humor that reminds us that being human is complicated.
Alongside formal training and professional experience, I also bring lived experience to this work. My own life has included adoption, divorce, the loss of a sibling, parenting a child through cancer and chemotherapy, rebuilding after a natural disaster, and more. Experiences like these deepen my respect for the resilience people carry and the courage it takes to face difficult chapters in life.
One area of particular interest in my work is the connection between psychology and physiology. Hormonal shifts in midlife, especially during perimenopause and menopause, can influence mood, emotional processing, and psychedelic experiences. While many women seek me out for this reason, I work equally with men and couples navigating growth, healing, and life transitions. For those who are not ready for a full journey, I also provide education and harm-reduction guidance for people exploring microdosing.
I welcome people from diverse cultural backgrounds and identities, including those who identify as BIPOC or LGBTQIA+. Creating a space where people feel respected, safe, and able to show up as their full selves is central to my work.
If you feel curious about this work but are not quite sure where to begin, that is completely normal. Most people arrive with questions, not certainty. A simple conversation is often the best first step.
Reviews
“Karin is an excellent facilitator. She prepared me with education, accurate explanations and emotional support. I found her intention setting appointments very helpful and compassionate. She was someone I found that I could trust before, during and after the psilocybin experience. I would highly recommend her.” – Jim L.
