Carita Anderson
About Me
I’m a licensed psychologist and licensed natural medicine facilitator with 25+ years of clinical experience supporting individuals, couples, families, and groups. My work is grounded in deep listening, relational insight, and helping people move through complex emotional terrain with clarity and care.
My Approach
My facilitation style is collaborative, trauma-informed, and exploratory. I focus on creating a safe, grounded container where clients can process experiences with intention, reflection, and integration support.
Who I Work With
I support adults navigating a wide range of concerns, including relationship communication challenges, sexuality and intimacy, life transitions, family dynamics, parenting, anxiety, and depression. I have particular depth in couples and sexuality work.
As an African American woman, I bring lived experience into the room. I understand how vulnerability, safety, and cultural context shape the healing process. Many women and people of color carry protective strategies that helped them survive and thrive — there’s no expectation to release those defenses. Instead, we explore what’s still serving you and what may no longer fit this season of your life.
What to Expect
My facilitation approach is largely non-directive. I offer gentle guidance and structure to help you shape your expectations and deepen your experience so you can receive the wisdom the medicine offers.
The medicine session itself is a unique, personal experience. Afterward, we come together in an integration session to reflect on what emerged and create a plan so you can continue building on the insights and momentum from the experience.
